Leeds could be the best city in the UK by 2030

Yes­ter­day in the York­shire Evening Post a blue­print was laid out that hopes to make Leeds the best city in the UK by 2030. As a pas­sion­ate Loiner I’d insist that Leeds is the best city in the world end of argu­ment. How­ever as a cyn­i­cal unem­ployed young per­son I can still see flaws in this city and this is where Future Arts can step in to be a part of the vision to improve this city by 2030.

The riots, the youth, and the real dangers to society

The riots of recent weeks have had a num­ber of neg­a­tive con­se­quences for peo­ple across the coun­try. Four peo­ple have died, hun­dreds have been injured by police and riot­ers, thou­sands have been arrested, and mil­lions of pounds worth of dam­age has been caused. (more…)

Breeze Finale a great success

Last Thurs­day I went down to Breeze on Tour at Kirk­stall Abbey to help out with our out­reach team who have been deliv­er­ing free DJ lessons and work­shops to young peo­ple and demon­strat­ing how to use pro­grams such as Able­ton, Logic and Rea­son. If you haven’t heard about Breeze on Tour, it’s a series of mini-festivals for young peo­ple with a range of games, activ­i­ties, rides, bands and food on offer, along­side a series of stalls from a wide vari­ety of dif­fer­ent organ­i­sa­tions who work with young people.

Mandela Centre Outreach Visit

Mem­bers of our Future Arts team vis­ited the Man­dela Cen­tre on Chapel­town Road on the 4th August for an out­reach ses­sion. This cen­tre offers a wide range of activ­i­ties for young peo­ple in the area. These include sport, cul­ture, recre­ation and enter­tain­ment. (more…)
